This study investigated travel interests, constraints to travel, and other relevant characteristics regarding persons 55 or older. The results identify significant demographic differences between travelers and non-travelers as well as differing constraints for travelers and non-travelers.

This book addresses many of the key themes that are seen as challenges to achieve sustainability and to mitigate climate change impacts in the near future, in the tourism sector. In particular it focuses on the economic drivers for growth in tourism as they relate to sustainable development, low-carbon travel and climate change impacts. A major feature is the integration of climate change and sustainability challenges, rather than treating them separately or with sustainability as an add-on.

Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης είναι η καταγραφή και η παρουσίαση αναλυτικών στοιχείων για το ταξιδιωτικό προφίλ των τουριστών τρίτης ηλικίας (65+ ετών) που επιλέγουν για ταξίδι διακοπών προορισμούς στην Ευρώπη.

Travel and retirement situation. Research shows that travel is a desirable activity among retirees. But surveys on the relationship between retirement and travel are limited, being based on the notion of retirement at 65, a criterion that has been disproved given recent social, political and economic changes. Four separate analyzes are made: the relationship between a given retirement situation and constraints on travel, use of information, practical elements of travel, and participation in activities. Similarities and differences emerge from the survey.
